SEED FOR ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF THE VULNERABLE (SEEV-GH)

SEED FOR ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF THE VULNERABLE (SEEV-GH) promotes a better world!

About US

  SEEV-Ghana is a multi-purpose Organization which came to being as a result of peer discussions amongst development students spearheaded by the current director of the organization due to her constant contact with women and children in distressed communities in the UE/R in particular and Ghana as a whole. SEEV-Ghana works with communities to enable people to come together to contribute to positive change based on mutual interests and values. We prop up children, women groups and association/networks and community leaders to work in partnership with duty bearers on the development of more inclusive, open and unwavering societies. Varied activities have therefore been designed as a result, to meet the developmental challenges faced by vulnerable groups in the developing world especially the urban or rural Girl/Woman. The enterprise hinges on the human rights of women and children to that which impede the smooth growth and development of young generation of women who would take up leadership positions from their predecessors both in the home and community as a whole, by;

Amplifying voice and responsibility

We support all citizens especially women and other vulnerable groups to participate in decisions making at home and in the community and as well influence some policies that affect their lives. We facilitate the building of the capacity of women/girls and children to scrutinize and endorse improved public services in the community they live.

Influencing policy and societal change

We sustain women groups, girl clubs/movements and vulnerable groups through advocacy to engage duty bearers especially with the private sector and government to implement and carry out valuable projects and programmes to the development of the people.

Promoting empowerment, social inclusion and equality

We build the capacities of women and other vulnerable groups in communities and schools to solicit and access reliable services from the private sector and government, in order for the underprivileged groups to be empowered, have equal access to services/ inclusiveness in policy decisions for a more sustained development.

As part of activities; some thematic areas are identified:

*        Youth Reading Clubs (YRC)

*        Girls Leadership Coaching Club (GLCC)

*        Community Development Advocacy Project (CODAP)

*        Rural Girls Entrepreneurship project (RUGEP)

*        Social/Micro-Savings For Micro- Enterprise Development (SEEV-Ghana Savings Network)

*        Development Research and Consultancy (DEVCO)

These areas are very dear to the organization (SEEV-Ghana), and as group, we have the conviction that numerous challenges and problems encountered by the woman can best be resolved by women and the disadvantaged themselves first; by identifying the problem and finding a possible solutions to their issues before soliciting support from other billet.
